LIQUID PENETRANT TESTING (PT) METHODS


Description
This training course provides a detailed theoretical and practical knowledge of the Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) for assessing product quality, including weldment.

Objective
The course will provide training on the fundamental of the Liquid Penetrant testing, application of various techniques, identifying potential problems in the methods, and general information on how to apply the methods based on the specified codes and standards. It provides a basic but thorough review of all parameters should be considered to carry out the tests. Participants will also learn how to read and apply the inspection procedure, and write a clear and concise test report. Active participation is encouraged and enough time is given for question and answer period.

Highlight
Liquid Penetrant Testing: Basic principles, surface preparation, penetrant application, interpretation and evaluation of indications, quality control of penetrant process variable, categories and the origin of discontinuities, understanding SNT-TC-1A, understanding standards, specifications and written practices, and sample specification.

Who Should Attend
NDT and quality control personnel, inspectors and technicians involved in NDT jobs. This training course is also directed to engineering university students and fresh graduates who are interested in NDT and welding inspection field as part of their career.

Recognition
Upon completion of the course and passing general, specific, and practical examinations, an internationally recognized certificate of qualification will be granted to the participant, and he/she is considered to meet the requirements as NDT Level II in the PT methods.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Liquid Penetrant Testing Level II applicants MUST understand English (passive) and satisfy at least one of the following eligibility criteria:
1. Graduated from D3, D4, S1 engineering or science.
2. D3, D4, or S1 engineering or science students of at least in last semester.
3. High school (SMU-IPA/SMK TEKNIK) holding valid NDT Level I certificate or have experience in NDT of at least three years.

RADIOGRAPHY FILM INTERPRETATION
A Limited Certification of Radiographic Testing Level II



Description
Radiography Film Interpretation (RI) is a limited certification of Radiographic Testing. This course will give the participant a complete understanding about theoretical and practical knowledge of the Radiographic Interpretation for assessing materials and welds.

Objective
The training course will deliver the fundamental of Radiographic Film Interpretation. This course is suitable for candidates who wants to gain theoretical and practical knowledge in interpreting and evaluating radiographs. Participants will learn how to assess radiographic quality and to identify weld defects in accordance to a specified code/standard. Active participation is encouraged and enough time is given for question and answer period.

   

Highlight
Basic application of radiography testing, origin and nature of radiation, penetration and absorbtion, radiographic sensitivity, subject and film contrast, radiation energy, radioactive materials, radiographic artifatcs, indication description, discontinuity indications, discontinuity interpretation and evaluation, understanding SNT-TC-1A, and understanding RT standards and codes.

Recognition
Upon completion of the course and passing general, specific, and practical examinations, an internationally recognized certificate of qualification will be granted to the participant, and he/she is considered to meet the requirements as NDT Level II Limited Certification in the RT method.

Welding Inspector, NDT and quality control personnel who involved in NDT jobs. This training course is also directed to engineering students and fresh graduates who are interested in NDT and welding inspection field as part of their career.

RI Level II applicants must understand English (passive) and satisfy at least one of the following eligibility criteria:
1. Graduated from D3, D4, S1 engineering or science.

3. Individual holding Welding Inspector certification.

Participants will learn how to understand basic principles behind ultrasonic thickness measurement. Active participation is encouraged and enough time is given for question and answer as well as for practical period.

Description
Participant of this course will be given a thorough understanding about theoretical and practical knowledge of Visual Testing (VT) method to assess quality of welds.

Objective
The course will provide hands on training on the fundamental and practical knowledge of the Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement. This course is suitable for candidates who wants to improve their knowledge and being certified on material thickness measurement. Participants will learn how to understand basic principles behind ultrasonic thickness measurement. Active participation is encouraged and enough time is given for question and answer as well as for practical period.

Fundamentals of visual testing, factors that affect visual testing, equipment, discontinuities, visual testing documents, duties and responsibilities of visual inspector, terms and definitions, welding imperfections, introduction to welding process, arc welding consummables, welder and procedure approvals, materials inspection, nondestructive testing, heat treatment of steels, visual testing codes: ASME Section V, ASME Section I & Section VIII, API 650, API 1104, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1.

This course is suitable for QC personnel, visual inspectors, or fresh graduate engineering students who want to improve their knowledge and being certified to visual testing method of welds with no time to attend Welding Inspector course..

Objective
The course will provide hands on training on the fundamental and practical knowledge of Eddy Current Testing. This course is suitable for candidates who wants to improve their knowledge and being certified to eddy current method in the area of welds surface and tubing inspections. Participants will learn how to understand basic principles of eddy current testing. Active participation is encouraged and enough time is given for questions and answers as well as for practical period.

Electromagnetic testing, eddy current theory, eddy current instrumentation, readout mechanisms, eddy current sensing elements, coil impedance, eddy current test systems and analysis, selection of test frequency, electromagnetic testing applications, electromagnetic testing standards and procedures, etc.
